Bettas live in wild parts of siam and china where they are drab colored short finned fish. Bettas are unique pets because they are one of the only fish able to breath atmospheric oxygen as we do.Bettas bodies are about 2 1/2 inches long,not counting the tail. Bettas can be many different shapes colors and prices. A petstore fish could go for only 3.OO but a black betta or halfmoon betta could go for 5O.OO or more! People keep bettas because of their ease of keeping them, personality and looks. People love collecting them as they are easy to find, and easy to keep. Breeding bettas is time consuming and hard at first. It is very exciting to see little tiny fry turn into gourgeous fish.That is a little info on keeping bettas.

Tail types of bettas-
Bettas come in many different tail shapes. The most common is the veil tail which most if not all bettas from petstores are. Veil tails are mellon shapes. Halfmoon bettas are fish with tails that are 18O degrees or more. There is also fantail which is shaped like a fan. Another tail type is double tail. It is two tails on one bettas. Double tail bettas seem bigger and stockier than single tails.Pin tails are tails that never open up. Those are some of the many tail types of bettas.
